In 2016 we sold Whimsy. After travelling for 6 months we were both offered new projects. We had owned Whimsy for 4 years and she had been a magic vehicle. Just couldn’t stand her sitting there with no time to use her. Then in 2018, after retiring, we walked into Avan Bomaderry, on Jaynes birthday, and there she was, Whimsy 2. Whimsy 2 is slightly bigger with separate shower which was a must for Jayne.

Whimsy is a lovely girl who will be our travelling companion/hotel on our adventures around OZ. She is a 7 metre long Fiat Ducato Winnebago, Birdsville. We have given her a bit of a makeover with a new Solar System, Inverter, and new LED headlights. We think she is the ants pants!
Alison has been lucky enough to travel in Whimsy over the last year or so and has found that the experience provided a wonderful sense of freedom and great fun. Jayne says 'bring it on'.

We have done our time with the working world, for a while anyway, and now we are off to experience the richness that travel can bring. We plan to circumnavigate Australia (or as much as is possible in Whimsy) as well as meandering through the beautiful red centre.
We are leaving a truly beautiful spot in Thirroul as you can see by the background photo on this blog. It was taken by Alison from the end of Woodlands Parade, just near our home. Stunning, and a lovely reminder of how lucky we are to have this to come home to.
Our Review System
As we travel around Australia, we plan to provide a view of the caravan parks. Our system will be a fairly simple one. We will be rating parks using the following fields:
Position (Is it in a great spot with easy access to beach and shops etc)
Customer Service (Is the park run well with helpful friendly staff)
Amenities (Are the amenities easy to access? are they clean? are they modern? Are they free?)
Cost (Do you get what you pay for?)
Asthetics (Is it beautiful? Serene? Attractive grounds?)
And awarding a Whimsy rating from 1 Whimsy (not great) to 10 Whimsies (just amazing). Feel free to comment and provide us with feedback.
